Vendor-Agnostic Home Energy Management Optimization (HEMS)

While proprietary home energy management systems exist, they operate within closed vendor ecosystems, utilizing basic, reactive heuristics (e.g., simple threshold-based switching). True economic and thermodynamic efficiency requires cross-vendor interoperability and predictive mathematical optimization.

Solvicus delivers a cloud-based mathematical solver capable of orchestrating heterogeneous assets — such as PV inverters, battery storage systems (BESS), heat pumps, and electric vehicles (EVs) — into a unified, cost-minimizing system.

Required inputs

  • Asset specifications: manufacturer-agnostic API telemetry, battery capacity, maximum C-rates, heat pump coefficient of performance (COP), and thermal inertia bounds
  • External variables: day-ahead dynamic electricity tariffs, grid constraint signals, and localized weather/PV yield forecasts
  • User constraints: desired state of charge (SoC) for EVs by specific deadlines and indoor temperature comfort bands

Solver output

  • A continuous, high-frequency (e.g., 15-minute intervals) dispatch schedule for all interconnected assets
  • Globally optimized charging/discharging profiles and thermal cycles that minimize total energy costs and carbon footprint while maximizing asset lifespans
